Driver flips off Burlington cop, gets ticket for speeding

Speeding and making rude hand gestures to another motorist didn’t work out too well for a Burlington driver today (June 14).
According to Halton Regional Police, the driver was going 20 km/h over the speed limit on New St. near Wedgewood Dr. and wanted another motorist to get out of his way. That’s when the speeder flipped the bird.
As it turns out, the other motorist was a cop in an unmarked police car who didn’t take too kindly to the excessive speed or the unfriendly gesture.
“(The) unmarked cruiser going 40km/h got passed in the right lane by a G2 driver going 60km/h+, who also thought the officer needed a hand gesture telling them to get out of the way,” according to police.
The speeder was in for a surprise when the lights of the unmarked police car started flashing and he was pulled over.
“Driving behaviour corrected with a ticket, hopefully, the attitude too,” the officer said.
The unnamed driver is not facing any charges.
