Driver charged, truck-trailer placed out of service by police on busy Oakville street

A driver of a pickup truck-trailer combo has been charged and his vehicle placed out of service after being pulled over Monday (Feb. 6) on a main street in Oakville.
Halton Regional Police Cst. Marc Taraso stopped the grey Dodge pickup and trailer travelling on Dundas St. and upon inspection discovered numerous safety issues.
Taraso found the driver had no trailer safety chains and had two flat trailer tires. The gas can and other goods on the trailer were also insecure.
The trailer was found to be over the weight of the Registered Gross Weight (RGW) and it was discovered that no annual inspections had been done.
The driver, who also had no insurance, has been charged and summonsed to court and his trailer-truck combo has been placed out of service.
Local residents expressed their appreciation for the job the local traffic enforcement officer and Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance Inspector does.
