A driver using Walkers Line in Burlington as his personal speedway is now paying the price.
Halton Regional Police say the motorist was clocked going double the speed limit on Walkers yesterday (June 8) just after 10 p.m., doing 100 km/h in a 50 km/h zone near Palladium Way.
“No excuse for this extreme speed,” commented Halton police via social media.
As a result, the 22-year-old faces a charge of stunt driver, has had his vehicle impounded for 14 days, a suspension of his driver’s license, and a court date to answer the charges.
The driver’s name has not been released.
Police continue to see a large number of speeders along popular spots on Halton roads with several charges and other fines being handed out during the past month.
