Halton police had to shoot and kill a dog after the animal attacked three people this afternoon (June 6).
Early reports say that officers responded to call in the area of Fairview St. and Walkers Line just after 3 p.m. that three people had been attacked by the dog.
The injuries sustained by the three are considered serious and required medical treatment.
Police said that attempts to contain and control the dog failed and resulted in it being shot and killed by officers.
The breed of the animal has not been released but reports suggest it was a large animal that had gotten loose.
