Don’t drink the water — seriously, Milton.
A ‘do not drink advisory’ has been issued for the Town of Milton by Halton Region’s associate medical officer of health.
Roughly 150 homes and businesses are affected.
The advisory was issued as a precaution following a recent “significant” watermain break.
Boiling the tap water won’t make it safe to drink, say public health officials, until test results can determine if contamination has occurred.
The situation is being “closely monitored to correct the problem” and further details will be communicated to affected homes and businesses “as soon as they are available,” reads a news release.
Repairs are underway and water will need to be thoroughly tested once the system has been reinstated.
Testing is expected to occur over the next several days.
Updates will be posted at halton.ca/health — keep in mind, if you need drinking water, you can call 311 and Halton staff will deliver it to your door.
