Death of 20-year-old woman in Oakville no longer considered suspicious

The death of a 20-year-old woman in Oakville is no longer being considered suspicious by Halton police.

Although the investigation is ongoing with the Office of the Chief Coroner, police are not seeking any suspects and do not anticipate laying any charges.

The woman was found outside of Sunningdale Publie School, 1434 Oxford Ave., in medical distress around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 20. She was transported to hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Initially, police ruled the death suspicious and were asking for anyone with dash cams or video surveillance to come forward.

However, the criminal aspect of the investigation is now over and police are not searching for any suspects or culprits.

At the request of the family, police are not identifying the victim.
