Convicted fugitive at large in Halton or Hamilton

A convicted fugitive is on the lam after he failed to appear in court.

Serge Kanyiki, 51, was recently convicted of sexual assault and forcible confinement. However, he did not appear at his sentencing hearing. If he had, he would have learned of his four-year sentence.

As a result, Hamilton Police called for the public’s help in finding him on Sept. 19. They’ve asked for anyone with information to come forward.

Investigators believe Kanyiki is either in Hamilton or the neighbouring Halton Region. However, they did not specify where in the Region he could be.

They have further advised the public not to approach Kanyiki. If spotted witnesses should call 911 immediately.
