Halton Police have set up a mobile command unit in a Burlington neighbourhood to help in the search for a missing 79-year-old woman.

Diane Kantowski was last seen at the King Road and Plains Road intersection on Oct. 30 around 10 a.m.

She is described as white, about 5-foot-7 with a thin build. She has shoulder-length grey hair and was wearing a black sweater with a blue and red design, blue jeans, and black slip-on shoes.

“Our officers are in the area searching,” police said on social media. “Local residents, please check your properties and contact police with any information.”

An updated photo of her sitting on a bench has also been released.

Kantowski is considered “vulnerable” under her current circumstances and police and family members are concerned for her well-being. She also went missing in September of this year but found within a day.

The police mobile command unit is in the Aldershot area and police encourage anyone with information to stop by. Officers are also canvassing the neighbourhood.

Anyone with information about Kantowski or her possible location is asked to contact police through 9-1-1 or via the non-emergency line at 905-825-4777.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or at the website.
