Collision involving Oakville driver leaves Waterloo motorcyclist seriously injured

A Waterloo region motorcyclist is in serious condition after a collision with an Oakville driver on Monday afternoon (Oct. 10) in Wellesley Township.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 53-year-old Wellesley male, was airlifted to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the car, a 24-year-old Oakville male, reported no physical injuries.

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating the collision that took place around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday in the area of Manser Road and Schummer Line in Wellesley Township.

An initial investigation by Waterloo police determined that the car crossed the centre line while travelling north on Manser Rd. and struck the motorcycle travelling south.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Traffic Unit is continuing its investigation. Charges are pending.

Manser Rd was closed for nearly six hours while police investigated.
