Closure: Sun sets on downtown Oakville’s Island View

A popular downtown Oakville women’s clothing store known for its printed dresses and swimsuits is closing its doors for good.
Island View – A Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store, located at 181 Lakeshore Rd. E., announced it will be permanently closing after next month.
“We are sad to announce that Island View – A Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store will be permanently closing its doors on July 31,” announced the colourful boutique on its website. “We appreciate your support over the last 10 years in Downtown Oakville and will miss all of our customers dearly.”

Known as a women’s clothing brand, Lilly Pulitzer sees itself as more of a lifestyle.
“A frame of mind, where the door’s always open and the clothing’s always designed sunny side up,” touts the clothing store.
The first store opening in Palm Beach, Florida around 1959 and for generations, Lilly Pulitzer has aimed represent the resort lifestyle for women of all ages, stages and sunny destinations.
Print was what set Island View and Lilly Pulitzer designs apart.
From a printed shift or a printed bikini, the custom designed patterns are unique and one-of-a-kind. You can tell it’s a true Lilly if you can find “Lilly” hidden in the print.
All sales at the store are final and are not eligible for exchange, return or refund. There will be no price adjustments on prior purchases.
“We will do our best to fulfill all online orders starting June 1, but the store will be busy and we cannot guarantee all orders will be completely filled,” said Island View. “Any sold out styles will be refunded accordingly.”
