Burlington residents who are fans of casual Italian fare will have to find another spot for all-you-can-eat soups, salads and garlic bread.

The East Side Mario’s location at 2000 Appleby Line is officially shuttering its doors.

The chain restaurant, known for serving diners a near-endless supply of soup/salad and its garlic homeloaf, as well as double bacon carbonara, lasagna, seafood linguine, pizza, sandwiches and more, will close on Sunday, Oct. 15.

The news of the closure, confirmed by the restaurant, has left some diners disappointed.

“Another restaurant gone? What’s going on in Burlington?” a poster on the Burlington Together Facebook group asked.

Others also shared their disappointment, with some saying the restaurant–which has been around for over two decades–was the site of their first date with their husband or wife.

“I have many happy memories celebrating family bdays here to going when my kids were little eat free. I refuse to leave a negative comment because behind the scenes, many restaurant owners and staff do care. I wish everyone the best,” another poster wrote.

While the closure is no doubt sad for fans of the brand, Burlington residents can still check out East Side Mario’s at its 777 Guelph Line location.

The resto also has locations in Oakville and Milton.
