A downtown Oakville restaurant will close its doors forever on Saturday (Sept. 28).
Piazza Bistro, located at 94 George Street, announced on its Facebook page this week that it is permanently closing. The last day of service will be Saturday.
No reason was provided for the decision to close.
“We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support and patronage,” said the Italian restaurant on its social media post. “It has been a pleasure serving you, and we hope to see you one last time before we close our doors.
“Thank you for being a part of our restaurant journey.”
Considered a “chic” small intimate eatery with a fireplace and outdoor seating, Piazza Bistro served up Italian foods and refreshments.
Starters included antipasto plates of meatballs, bruschetta, and a charcuterie board, followed by a selection of pizzas and pasta dishes, including chicken or veal marsala and risotto.
Customers could also choose from a variety of wines or a cappuccino to top off the meal.
“So sorry to see you go,” said one Facebook follower. “Wishing (you) the best of luck in the future.
“Very sad,” expressed another online follower. “A true gem!”
Reservations will be accepted up until their final day on Saturday.
