After more than a decade of service, a popular fish and chips restaurant will close its Milton location in a week.

Heritage Fish & Chips, located at 840 Main St. E., has announced that it will be shutting its doors after 15 years of serving the community.

The restaurant, known for its British-style fish and chips, has been a local favourite. The menu offers haddock, cod, and halibut dishes alongside a variety of sides such as coleslaw and mushy peas.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, the owners expressed their gratitude to customers, thanking them for their trust and support throughout the years.

“We will always cherish the moments we’ve shared,” the statement read, adding that the last day of operations will be Sunday, Sept. 22.

Many Facebook users shared their reactions in the comment section, with one writing, “how sad to read this,” while another asked, “wonder what’s going to go into that space.” Others expressed plans to visit the restaurant one last time before it closes.
