Agatha christie milton murder announced play

A classic murder-mystery by famed author Agatha Christie is coming to the Milton stage.

A Murder is Announced sees the English detective Miss Marple try to solve a murder before it happens.

“An announcement in the local paper states the time and place when a murder is to occur in Miss Blacklock’s Victorian house. The victim is not one of the house’s several occupants, but an unexpected and unknown visitor.”

What follows from the novel first published in 1950 is a classic Christie puzzle of mixed motives, concealed identities, a second death and a determined inspector grimly following the case’s twists and turns.

Fortunately, Miss Marple is on hand to provide the solution, at some risk to herself, in a dramatic final confrontation.

There are seven shows planned for the play, but on by Milton Players Theatre Group at FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton, Nov. 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 and a pair of shows on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Tickets cost $32, all in, and group discounts are available at the online box office.

The show is the first of three this season for the Milton Players Theatre Group.

The winter show is Bienvenue Oh Trout Lake and the spring show is A Fox on the Fairway.
