The City of Burlington is shutting down many services today (Jan. 25) in anticipation of a major snowfall.
All recreational facilities Sims Square, Downtown Transit Terminal and City Hall are closing as of 2 p.m.
As well, all programs run through Parks & Recreation have been cancelled as are all rentals of City-run facilities.
The snow will start off light this morning but is expected to get heavier throughout the afternoon and run through Thursday morning.
A total snowfall accumulation of 10 to 15 cm is expected by the time everything is done by Thursday. There will be reduced visibility in heavy snow while rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult, according to Environment Canada.
