‘Check backyards’ as search steps up for missing Burlington woman

Police have released an updated image of Diane Kantowski who has been missing since Sept. 9

Family members, friends and police are stepping up their search for a missing Burlington woman.

Halton police are now asking residents to check their backyards, sheds and other secluded areas of their properties in the hope that Diane Kantowski will be found.

“Remain vigilant for possible sightings,” police have asked the public through social media channels.

Kantowski, 79, was last seen yesterday (Sept. 9) near Plains Road and Falcon Boulevard.

She is white, 5-foot-7 and with a slim build. She is wearing a dark grey zip-up top and blue jeans.

Police have also released an updated image of Kantowski.

Anyone who has seen or knows any information about her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Halton Regional Police at 905-825-4777.
