More than $80,000 was raised for the Georgetown Hospital at last year's charity run.

More than $1 million has been raised for the Georgetown Hospital over the past 15 years and organizers of this year’s charity run are hoping to add to the total.

The 15th annual Walk or Run for Georgetown Hospital is being held Sunday, Sept. 24, and the goal is to raise more than the $80,000 raised last year.

All money raised goes towards vital equipment and technology needs at Georgetown Hospital.

“This event aims to bring our community closer while raising crucial funds to enhance the services and facilities at Georgetown Hospital,” said an organizer.

“With every step we take, we contribute to ensuring exemplary care is close to home, always.”

Organizers have planned various activities and entertainment for participants and spectators, including complimentary food from local restaurants, a vendor fair, mascots and plenty of fun, kid-friendly activities
