Charges pending against suspect in Oakville hospital fire

Halton police believe a small fire at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital Tuesday was intentionally set.
On Tuesday, Jan. 23, at about 8:40 a.m. police and the Oakville Fire Department were called to the Halton Healthcare facility following the report of a fire in a patient’s room on the fourth floor.
A police spokesperson said the fire was contained using an extinguisher. The patient in the room, along with some hospital staff, were treated for smoke inhalation.
Police said a suspect has been identified in the incident and charges are pending.
