Ceremony will mark Burlington’s 150th birthday

Celebrate Burlington’s 150th birthday and get a first-hand look at recent renovations at City Hall at an upcoming special event.

September 9, 1873, was the date that the villages of Wellington Square and Port Nelson merged to become the Village of Burlington and to mark the occasion there will be a flag-raising ceremony 150 years to the date.

Beginning at 10 a.m. ceremonies will begin at CIty Hall with the flag raising of the City Coat of Arms as well as the flag that carries the 150+ logo. A special proclamation will also be read to make the event official.

While you are at City Hall, there will also be an opportunity to see the recent renovations to the first floor of the building.
