Catch Sparky, Oakville firefighters tonight at local splashpad

The last two special events of the summer put on by the Oakville Fire Department happen tonight and next week.

Tonight at Fowley Park, 95 Fowley Dr., and next Wednesday at Vallebrook Park, 1150 Valleybrook Dr., local residents can bring the whole family to the local splashpad.

Everyone will have the opportunity to meet the local firefighters, check out the fire truck, take part in activities and get some practical information and tips for preventing fires and staying safe.

Panago Pizza will be on site, selling slices for $2 each. Water or pop from Fortinos South Oakville will be sold for $1 each. Proceeds from food sales will go to Lion Foundation of Canada Dog Guides.

Everything will run from 6 to 8 p.m. In case of rain or other severe weather, the event will be held the following day at the same time and location.
