One of Burlington’s top attractions will be mandating visitors to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Beginning Monday, Nov. 15, the Royal Botanical Gardens will require all visitors aged 12 and up to prove they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

This includes all indoor and outdoor areas of RBG Centre, Hendrie Park, Rock Garden, Laking Garden, and also includes public programs and events at the Arboretum or other RBG properties.

Proof of vaccination is not required to access RBG’s trails.

Visitors should be prepared to present receipt of full COVID-19 vaccination, and official government-issued ID showing name and date of birth.

Official vaccination receipts can be downloaded from the Government of Ontario’s vaccine booking portal or present the official immunization receipt received at least 14 days after your final vaccine dose.

If you are visiting from outside of Ontario and have proof of vaccination from another province, territory or country, it is valid if you can show you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with documentation that includes your name, date of birth, number of doses, and the name of the vaccine you received.

RBG will accept written medical exemptions as outlined by the Province of Ontario.

Visitors who do not present an official vaccination receipt, or accepted documentation of medical exemption, will not be allowed entry.

People who are not vaccinated or not comfortable with these rules, and who have already purchased tickets, are eligible for a refund.

Masks are required to enter RBG’s indoor spaces, including washrooms, Shop at the Gardens, Mediterranean Garden, and on-site restaurants. Outdoors, they are recommended when you are unable to keep your distance from others.

For more information, or to request a refund, visit RBG’s website.
