A Burlington man has been killed at a motorsports park in southwestern Ontario.

A Burlington man has been killed at a motorsports park in southwestern Ontario.

Richard Ennest, 59, was struck by a vehicle at a sanctioned race at Toronto Motorsports Park near Cayuga on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 19).

Ennest is the owner of Mr. Transmission on Fairview St. in Burlington.

Haldimand County OPP report that a race was about to start at the track when a pedestrian was struck by one of the vehicles. The pedestrian was later identified as Ennest.

He was transported to a local hospital and later send by air ambulance to another hospital before he was pronounced dead.

Ennest has been an operator of Mr. Transmission for over 30 years.
