The Burlington man has been charged with robbery with a firearm. He has been released with the promise of appearing in court. His name has not been released.
The incident began in Waterloo and Wednesday around 3:30 p.m. following reports of a bank robbery.
Waterloo Regional Police contacted the OPP who picked up the chase on the highway as the suspects headed eastbound. After becoming involved in a collision, the OPP gave up the chase.
Eventually the suspect vehicle got of the 401 in Mississauga and drove to a residential neighbourhood where Peel Regional Police and the OPP surrounded them and made the arrests, three hours after it all began. An OPP officer received minor injuries as a result of the earlier collision.
Aside from the Burlington man, three teenagers also face robbery charges.
