Burlington lifts city-wide fire ban

Burlington has lifted the ban on outdoor fires that had been in place since last week.
The ban had been in place because of the dry weather conditions and the poor air quality caused by the wildfires in Quebec and Northern Ontario.
However, the heavy rainfall has alleviated some of the concerns that were raised last week by the Burlington Fire Department when the ban was imposed.
Burlington was one of the first municipalities to issue a ban when the air quality started to deteriorate in the middle of last week.
The lifting of the ban is effective immediately but the fire department is still selling members of the public to practise fire safety when using open fire and fire pits, charcoal barbecues and other outdoor burning devices.
