The Minto Cup has a new home in Burlington.

On Saturday night (Aug. 26) the Burlington Blaze captured the cup at the national junior lacrosse championship held in Edmonton.

The Blaze defeated a team from Coquitlam, B.C. by winning two games in the best-of-three series.

While Burlington came out on top, the tough Coquitlam Adanacs put up a fight in both contests keeping it close right to the end.

In the first game, the Blaze came from behind to win 10-9. In the second game, another come-from-behind victory, Burlington scored six times in the final period to prevail 12-7.

Alex Marinier, who was the top scored on the team this season, led the way for Burlington in the final game with three goals. Will MacLeod scored twice.
