A luxurious mansion in Burlington that recently sold for $ 7,800,000 is one of the five most expensive properties to change hands in Ontario in October.

According to real estate website and brokerage Zoocasa, the home–originally listed for $7,999,900–was the only GTA home to sell for more than $5 million. The other homes that made the top five include three in Toronto and one in Innisfil.

While homes are certainly expensive in the overall Halton region, the average price point sits well below $7 million.

According to the latest data from the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB), the average house price in Halton (Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills) hit $1,245,146 in September, up 1.2 per cent from $1,230,389 in August.

In Burlington, homes sold for an average of $1,049,362 in September.

According to the listing, the 155 Avondale Crt. home boasts four bedrooms, eight bathrooms and 12 parking spaces.

Described as a “tremendous estate” that sits on a 130 by 216 lot, the massive home features a grand hallway with a glass-domed ceiling, a large formal dining room, a chef’s kitchen and a primary bedroom on the main floor with access to the backyard.

The 5,000-plus square foot house also features a theatre room, a gym, a steam shower, storage space and a spacious yard with a large patio, cabana, inground saltwater pool, hot tub, gardens and deeded access to Lake Ontario.
