A crudely drawn license plate and some high speeds have gotten a Burlington driver in trouble with the law.
Halton Regional Police say that an officer stationed on Guelph Line and Sideroad 2 — a notorious spot for speeders — clocked a driver doing 102 km/ h in a 60 km/h zone yesterday (March 16).

When the driver was pulled over noticed the fake plates. As well, the officer found the speeder was already under a driving suspension and had no insurance. The driver now faces criminal charges as well as fines under the Highway Traffic Act. If convicted fines could reach into the thousands of dollars and even jail time.
Meanwhile, Halton police had to deal with a couple of other aggressive drivers yesterday.
Police say a delivery driver, finished with their shift for the day, was driving 112 km/h on Burloak Dr. near the entrance of Bronte Provincial Park around 3:30 p.m. As a result, the company van the driver was using was impounded for 14 days and the driver will have to face a 30-day license suspension.

As well, a third driver on the day was caught going over 100 km/h.
This incident happened at 9:30 p.m. on Burloak Dr. and Mainway. This driver had reached a speed of 110 km/h when they were pulled over by officers. This driver will see their license suspended for 30 days, have their car impounded for 14 days as well as an additional suspension for having elevated levels of alcohol in their system.
The names of all of these drivers have not been released by police.
