Boy, 14, killed outside high school

Hamilton police confirmed late Monday (Oct. 7) afternoon that a 14-year-old boy was killed in an incident outside an East Hamilton high school.
Hamilton police confirmed late Monday (Oct. 7) afternoon that a 14-year-old boy was killed in an incident outside an East Hamilton high school.
Police were called to the area outside of Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School early in the afternoon to reports of a serious assault. Schools and daycares in the area were placed under hold and secure as police investigated the incident.
The victim, a student at Sir Winston Churchill, was transported to hospital but police later tweeted that he succumbed to his injuries.
After the hold and secure was lifted in the area around 3 p.m., HPS’s major crimes unit was called in to investigate.
Police are appealing for video or anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact 905-546-4123 or drop it off at the Command Van located at Ivon and Dunsmuir Street.
