The body of a woman has been discovered near a hiking trail at Mount Nemo Conservation Area in Burlington.

Reports say those hiking the trail came across the body yesterday afternoon (Aug. 27).

Halton Regional Police are investigating but early indications are that foul play is not suspected.

Mount Nemo is a popular destination for hikers but also for rock climbers and attracts tourists from across Southern Ontario. Along with nearby Rattlesnake Point there are five kilometres of trails that also connect to the Bruce Trail.

Last month a 58-year-old man died after falling from a cliff at Mount Nemo which is owned and operated by Conservation Halton.
