A blowing snow advisory is in effect for Milton, Halton Hills and Caledon (Feb 19).

There will be poor visibility in blowing snow today.

Strong winds gusting between 70 and 80 km/h and some areas will have near zero visibility in snow and blowing snow.

Snow accumulations of 3 to 5 cm possible.

This will happen this morning through to this afternoon.

An Alberta Clipper will bring strong winds and snow to southern Ontario today. Very strong westerly winds are expected causing hazardous blowing snow conditions. Strong winds will weaken rapidly this evening.

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Blowing snow advisories are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours.
