A major power outage in Burlington has affected 5,000 customers.
Burlington Hydro reports the outage has occurred in several neighbourhoods with the south-central area of the city the most impacted.
Several downtown businesses have been affected as have many homes and highrises.
The Burlington Hydro outage map shows that most problems exist south of Plains Road, east of Maple Avenue and west of Guelph Line.
A downed power line is the reason for the outage and crews are on the scene to repair the damage.
