Baseball diamonds temporarily closed due to rain in Oakville

Thanks to Mother Nature, it’s a swing and a miss on baseball diamonds tonight in Oakville.

Due to rainfall saturation, all baseball diamonds are closed Monday (June 26).

A heavy rainfall during the morning and early afternoon drenched local diamonds and fields.

Local amounts of rainfall were expected to be in the 10 to 15 millimetre range.

The good news is that natural grass and artificial turf fields remain open for permitted users.

“Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we protect the standards of the fields,” the Town of Oakville said on Twitter.
