Banff movie festival celebrating the mountain world stops in Oakville Saturday

A prestigious film festival on world tour will be making a stop in Oakville Saturday.
The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour celebrates amazing achievements in outdoor storytelling and film-making worldwide.
The festival is held annually in Banff, Alberta, and will be stopping in more than 600 communities in more than 40 countries on its tour.
“From the over 400 entries submitted into the Festival each year, award-winners and audience favourites are among the films that are carefully selected to play in theatres around the world,” said a spokesperson.
“Travelling to remote vistas, analyzing topical environmental issues, and bringing audiences up-close and personal with adrenaline-packed action sports, the World Tour is an exhilarating and provocative exploration of the mountain world.”
The event is being held Saturday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. in the AEG Liebherr Auditorium at Oakville Centre for the performing arts.
