Two auto shops were the target of thieves in two separate break-ins.

According to police reports the first was entered around 11:50 p.m. on Argus Rd. when a person smashed through the glass on the front door.

The suspect ransacked the office area of the shop but ultimately came away empty-handed as police say nothing valuable was reported stolen.

A short time later the same man smashed through the door of another shop on Argus, this time getting away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

In both cases police arrived on the scene but not before the suspect made his escape.

Police believe the man was acting alone. He is described as having a medium to large build and was dressed in dark clothing.
