Oakville windrow expansion

The date for qualifying Milton residents to apply for the Town’s help removing windrows is coming up.

Beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 23, seniors at least 65 years old and persons with disabilities living in Milton can begin to apply for the Town of Milton’s Windrow Removal Program for the 2023-24 winter season.

Windrows are piles of snow left at the bottom of driveways after the snowplow passes. The service begins when the total accumulation of snow on the roadway exceeds 10 cm and only after the Town of Milton has completed plowing of all roads.

The Windrow Removal Program runs from Dec. 1 to March 31 and there is a fee of $63 when applying to the program.

Online applications run from Monday, Oct. 23, to Friday, Oct. 27, beginning at 9 a.m.

In-person application is Friday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Milton Leisure Centre, 1100 Main St.

When applying in person, bring identification with proof of address and age. For persons with disabilities, we require you to provide a doctor’s note.

Depending on the number of program registrants, it may be at least 36 hours after all the roads have been plowed before the windrow removal service is completed.
