Annual festival with music, family fun returns to Oakville park this weekend

After taking last year off because of rising costs, one of Oakville’s largest summer festivals will return this weekend.
Kerrfest and Kerrfest Kids events, run by the Kerr Village Business Improvement Association, will be held Sept. 6 to 8 at Westwood Park, located at the corner of Kerr Street and Bond Street.
The opening two days of the festival will feature live musical entertainment, local food vendors and sponsor booths, with Sunday dedicated to families and their children.
Gates will open Friday at 5:15 p.m. with Teenage Head kicking things off at 6 p.m. Haywire follows at 7:45 p.m. and David Wilcox wraps up the night with a 9:30 p.m. show.
Gates will open at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The musical lineup for the afternoon features Blue Avenue at 1:15 p.m., Fiddlestix at 2:30 p.m., and The Lightfoot Band at 4:30 p.m.
Lighthouse will kick off the evening segment at 6:30 p.m., followed by Toronto at 8 p.m. and Saga wraps it up at 9:30 p.m.

The free Kerrfest Kids event kicks off at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, also at Westwood Park.
Here’s the schedule for those expected to appear:
- 11 to 11:30 a.m. – PAW Patrol Chase & Skye (meet & greet)
- 11:30 to noon – Bob the Builder
- Noon to 12:30 p.m – PAW Patrol Chase (meet & greet)
- 12:30 to 1 p.m – PAW Patrol Skye (meet & greet)
- 1 to 1:30 p.m – Bob the Builder
- 1:30 to 2 p.m – PAW Patrol Chase & Skye (meet & greet)
- 2:30 to 4 p.m – Leave Those Kids Alone!
In addition, there will be face painting, Little Ray’s Reptiles, Marvel character photo booth, Bandology Music Lab and inflatable Top Shot hockey net.
