Local residents don't want the Reid Road Quarry, left, to reopen and potentially turn into something resembling the open pit on the right.

A Milton group is hosting a meeting to oppose the Campbellville quarry in a couple of weeks.

The Association of Citizens Together in Our Nassagaweya (ACTION) is holding the meeting Wednesday, Mar. 27, at 7 p.m. at Country Heritage Park’s Gambrel Barn, 8560 Tremaine Rd.

“The resignation of Parm Gill as MPP for Milton places the responsibility to stop the Campbellville quarry on Premier Doug Ford.”

A spokesperson for the group said representatives from all four political parties have been invited to the meeting, including Zee Hamid the PC candidate in the upcoming byelection.

The meeting will include an update on the environmental assessment process from David Donnelly, counsel to ACTION Milton.
