A huge block of townhouses has been proposed for Oakville

A massive block of townhouses has just been proposed for an Oakville neighbourhood.

In a collection of documents slated to be reviewed by council officials next month, it has been revealed that the Garden Residences Corporation has submitted a formal application for a mixed-use townhouse community nestled within the town. 

Details within the application point to the development of three blocks worth of four-storey back-to-back townhouses with rooftop amenities along Lakeshore Road West. 

Additional information surrounding the proposed community also indicates the integration of mixed-use developments within the project, totaling 48 units — each with its own parking space — and 194 square metres of ground-floor commercial space. 

Specifics surrounding the potential development indicate that its exact location — if approved — will be the northeast corner of Garden Drive and Lakeshore Road West. 

Oakville council members are scheduled to review the application and its surrounding amendments on Oct. 15.
