A restaurant that has built a loyal customer base in Hamilton is banking on the same success in Burlington.

Radius, the award-winning restaurant that has a proven track record in steeltown has just opened at 455 Brant St. at the location formerly occupied by the Pump & Patio.

An official opening ceremony was held yesterday (Nov. 30).

The Brant St. location has 80 indoor dining seats and will accommodate 30 more people on the patio.

Radius will be open for both the lunch and dinner crowds.

“We’re thrilled to become part of the thriving Burlington community,” said Chelsea Ladd, managing partner of the new location, said in a recently released statement. “We have many existing Burlington customers, so we are glad that their travel time will be reduced.”

The operators say the Burlington restaurant is smaller than the Hamilton location but are sure the new setting will offer an intimate dining experience.

“Our goal is to re-introduce you to an era when food and drink did not come pre‑packaged and tasted uniformly blah, but instead was masterfully prepared by a team that love to cook and aim to please,” Radius states on its website. “We believe that you can taste the difference. From farm fresh eggs, locally fresh meats and baked goods, to naturally grown seasonal vegetables, our chef takes what arrives that morning and makes beautiful food from it that day”

Calling the dining “urban casual” Radius showcases an extensive menu at both lunch and dinner times.

Items you may find include sharables such as kalbi beef nachos and parmesan truffle fries and sandwiches like beet grilled cheese and chicken Waldorf tartine at lunchtime.

At dinner, featured items include honey and sumac glazed salmon, dry-aged ribeye, and Korean braised short rib.

And, the dessert menu is extensive as are the options for specialty drinks.

“Together with our team at Radius, we want to become part of the thriving Burlington community,” Ladd said. “We’ve always loved the magic, and charm of Brant St., and have been fans of many of the businesses that will now be our neighbours.”
