A halloween bicycle parade is kicking off this weekend in Halton Hills

Halton Hills aims to combine cycling and scares with this weekend’s upcoming Costume Bike Parade.

The event — scheduled for Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. — encourages residents from all over the Halton Region to dawn their best costumes and get one last good use of their bikes before the snow hits.

The parade is set to start at Gellert Community Centre Park and event organizers encourage ghosts and goblins of all ages to attend the festivities.

Prizes will also be featured for costumes in the categories of:

  • Children up to and including grade three
  • Grade four to Grade eight
  • High School students
  • Adult attendees
  • Best family costumes

However, the grand prize of a giant pumpkin provided by a local Halton Region farm is by far the biggest draw.
