Organizers of this year’s VegFest in Burlington say this year’s event will be bigger and better than last year’s inaugural show.
This year there will be more vendors, more entertainment, and more activities for the entire family to enjoy.
Set for tomorrow (Saturday, Aug. 19) at Burloak Waterfront Park, Vegfest will feature vegan foods for all to enjoy along with speakers who will be talking about the health benefits of vegetables and offer advice to those who want to make the switch from current dietary habits.
Organizers describe themselves as a small, local, volunteer-led committee of vegans who celebrate a way of living that is centred on compassion, health and sustainability while supporting area businesses and farmers,
As well, organizers say the event is ideal for those who are either plant-based-curious or long-term committed vegans.
VegFest is free to attend although donations will be accepted.
Activities start at noon and end at 6 p.m.
The park is located at 5420 Lakeshore Rd. There is free limited parking and a free shuttle bus from the Appleby GO Station.
