A Burlington man is going home with $50,000 after winning big on an Instant Crossword game.

According to a news release from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, James Bradt, a retiree from Burlington, won the big prize.

Bradt, a father and grandfather, often dreamed of winning big one day.

In fact, quite literally.

“I had a dream that I won on a crossword ticket, so the next day I went out and picked one up,” said Bradt. “I played the ticket and was left in shock when I realized I won the top prize of $50,000!”

Upon learning his win, Bradt immediately informed his wife of 57 years that they had just won the jackpot.

When asked what he would do with his winnings, Bradt told OLG officials, “I’ll help my grandkids and we’ll take a cruise vacation. I may even rent a Shelby Cobra for the day and take a nice drive!”

According to the OLG, the winning ticket was purchased at Jug Milk Variety on Plains Road East in Burlington.
