UPDATE: 90 year-old pedestrian fatally hit by vehicle in Georgetown

UPDATE: The Halton Police say, the investigation portion of the collision has been completed. All road closure advisories have ended and the roads are now open to motorists.
An elderly woman has died after being struck by a vehicle along a busy road in Georgetown this morning.
Halton Regional Police responded to a collision between a pedestrian and vehicle shortly after 7 a.m., near Mountainview Road South.
Investigators say, the 90-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, police have not disclosed the identity of the victim or the driver, withholding details such as name, age, and places of residence.
The HRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken charge of the investigation and are looking into the cause of the incident.
Mountainview Road, between Guelph Street and Sargent Road is currently closed to motorists. Officers have not indicated when they anticipate the roads to reopen.
While some witnesses stayed at the collision scene, police are urging others who observed the incident (but did not remain) or may have dashcam footage to come forward.
