30 new COVID-19 cases reported in Halton

Thirty new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Halton Region.
Burlington makes up the majority of new cases with 14, followed by Oakville with 10, Milton with four, and Halton Hills with two.
According to the Halton Region’s COVID-19 dashboard, there are 177 active cases of the virus in the region. The region has recorded a total of 19,107 cases since the start of the pandemic, with 18,690 cases being marked as resolved. The website says 240 residents have died of the virus.
Burlington currently has the majority of active cases within the region at 72, followed by Oakville with 53, Milton with 40, and Halton Hills with 12.
Within the Halton region, there are five ongoing outbreaks – two in Burlington (one at Hampton Terrace Long Term Care Home with 22 cases) one in Milton, and one in Oakville. The rest of the outbreaks are at workplaces and account for 19 cases.
On the vaccine front, the region’s dashboard says 854,259 COVID-19 shots have been administered so far.
