29 new COVID-19 cases reported in Halton Region

Twenty-nine newly detected cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Halton (Burlington, Milton Oakville, Halton Hills) this Friday (Sept. 24) afternoon.

Burlington makes up nearly half of today’s cases.

According to the Halton Region’s website, 14 of the cases have been reported in Burlington, eight in Oakville and six in Milton. One new case was reported in Halton Hills.

According to the website, there are currently 155 active cases of the virus throughout the region. Currently, there are 78 active cases in Burlington, 39 in Oakville, 34 in Milton, and four in Halton Hills.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 19,346 cases have been reported throughout the region.

The website says 864,309 doses of vaccine have been administered in Halton. The percentage of the population vaccinated has stayed relatively stable over this past week, with around 85 per cent of the population receiving one dose of vaccine and around 81 per cent now fully vaccinated.
