A 25-storey residential building that could accommodate 240 living units has been proposed for a downtown Burlington neighbourhood.

The plan for 2030 Caroline Street calls for a mix of one and two-bedroom suites built on top of a six-level above-grade parking structure and ground-floor commercial space.

The area is proving to be a popular space for redevelopment as other projects have been proposed for the neighbourhood and several others are currently being built.

Those who have submitted the proposal are currently in the pre-application stage and have not submitted firm plans to the City of Burlington which would have to change local zoning bylaws to allow the project to proceed.

Members of the public can learn about the project at a virtual meeting planned for April 9 at 7 p.m.

At the meeting City planning staff will provide an overview of the development application review process, as well as the planning polices in effect on the site. The buildings, in Inaria will provide an overview of their development concept. There will be a question and answer session for the public to take part in.
