Power outage Mississauga

Power has been restored to a large part of Burlington following a major electrical outage last night (July 18).

Around 9 p.m. Burlington Hydro reported that approximately 10,000 customers were without power as technical crews looked to solve the problem.

The area affected was for those who live near Guelph Line and Dundas St.

About three hours later the lights came back on.

Burlington Hydro said the reason behind the outage was a defective switch in a power box.

Meanwhile, this morning there is a planned power interruption in the City as crews conduct maintenance work in the area of Brant St. and Fairview St. This has affected about 180 customers and power is expected to return later this morning.
